MOQ and samples

What is the minimum order?

Typical starting points are 50-500 pairs per model for a catalog model, 500-1,000 pairs per model for a logo program (logo plus packaging), and about 3,000 pairs per model for full custom OEM or ODM work with a new frame mould, acoustic or board tuning, or app white-label. Accessories such as replacement lenses and charging cases usually start at 500-1,000 pieces, and kids models at 1,000 pairs. All are typical reference ranges, confirmed in writing for each program; see MOQ and lead time.

How long do samples take?

Catalog samples usually take 5-10 working days and logo samples 10-15 working days. Engineering samples for a custom build take about 30-60 days, of which tooling is typically 25-45 days. The approved golden sample becomes the reference for the batch. The sequence is described in the sample process.

How long does a batch take?

Catalog and logo programs typically ship in 20-35 days after golden sample approval; full custom OEM programs take 45-75 days, not counting time waiting for lab slots.

Certification and testing

Which certificates does a smart glasses program need?

For the United States: FCC Part 15.247 for the Bluetooth transmitter and Part 15 Subpart B for the digital circuitry, with an FCC ID on the label; lenses to ANSI Z80.3 and the impact test under 21 CFR 801.410; CPSIA for children's products. For the European Union: CE under the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, covering EN 300 328, EN 301 489, EN 62368-1 and, since 1 August 2025, cybersecurity under EN 18031; sunglass lenses to ISO 12312-1; the EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542, RoHS, REACH and WEEE. Bluetooth SIG qualification applies to products that use the Bluetooth name. Confirm the final scope with your test lab; the overview is on compliance and certifications.

Who holds the certificates?

Test labs issue certificates to the partner plant or to your brand, per project. The desk verifies scope and validity; it does not hold certificates in its own name. Lab testing for FCC or CE typically takes 3-6 weeks, depending on the lab and the scope.

Batteries and shipping

Can smart glasses travel by air?

Yes. Glasses with lithium-ion cells inside are shipped as UN3481 under Packing Instruction 967 Section II, provided each cell is no more than 20 Wh, with a UN 38.3 test summary, lithium battery marks and the waybill statement. IATA recommends a state of charge of 30 percent or less. Charging cases with their own cell are classified per watt-hour rating. Express and air take about 5-10 days; sea freight about 15-25 days to the US West Coast and 30-45 days to Europe. See logistics and shipping.

Privacy, camera and app

How do camera glasses handle privacy?

Every camera model on this site carries a recording indicator LED. The European Data Protection Board statement adopted in October 2026 asks manufacturers to make indicators visible in different lighting, to use different light patterns for video and photos, and to prevent recording when the indicator is covered. It is guidance, not law, but the desk includes it in the camera spec.

What about app data?

App permissions, accounts and data storage depend on the app provider and the firmware. The desk documents which app a program uses and what it requests; your counsel should review the privacy notice for your market.

Customization

What can be customized?

On catalog models: logo, colours, lens type, packaging and often an app skin. On custom builds: frame shape and mould, acoustic tuning, button and touch layout, firmware features and app white-label. The options are mapped on OEM and private label.

Who owns the mould and the design files?

Ownership of a custom frame mould, artwork and app branding is agreed per program and written into the contract before tooling starts. Catalog models remain the partner plant's design; only your logo, packaging artwork and agreed colour work belong to your brand. Agreeing this early avoids disputes when a second plant is added or the program moves.

Payment and contracts

How are prices and payment terms set?

No prices are published. Each program receives a written quotation based on its specification and quantity. Payment terms, delivery terms, inspection criteria and warranty handling are agreed per program and confirmed in writing in the purchase contract; information on this website is not an offer. Start with a brief on the quote form.

Questions buyers ask

Q01What is the typical MOQ for smart glasses?

Typically 50-500 pairs per catalog model, 500-1,000 pairs for a logo program and from about 3,000 pairs for full custom OEM or ODM work. These are reference ranges, confirmed in writing for each program.

Q02How fast can I get a sample?

Catalog samples usually take 5-10 working days and logo samples 10-15 working days. Engineering samples for a custom build take about 30-60 days including tooling. Samples ship by express with the cells declared under UN3481.

Q03Can smart glasses get wet?

Smart glasses on this site are water-resistant, not rated for immersion. Typical ratings are IPX4 to IP55 depending on the line, tested per IEC 60529, which covers splashes and sweat. Do not submerge them.

Q04Does the desk publish prices?

No. Cost depends on chipset, cells, frame and lens choices, packaging, quantity and certification scope, so each program receives a written quotation after the brief and samples.

Q05Are terms on the website binding?

No. Figures on the website are typical industry ranges for information. Quantities, prices, payment, delivery and inspection terms are binding only once confirmed in writing in a contract for your program.

Send the lines you need, target specs, the quantity per model and your market. The desk replies in writing with matched plants, a spec sheet, certification routes and the reference MOQ.
